Hardly Strictly Bluegrass has dropped its initial lineup for the milestone 25th anniversary edition, set for October 3-5, 2025 at San Francisco’s iconic Golden Gate Park. This free festival continues its tradition of showcasing a diverse mix of roots, Americana, and bluegrass in a stunning urban outdoor setting.
Headlining this year’s lineup are Grammy-winning Lucinda Williams, the genre-bending jam band The String Cheese Incident, and Australian indie rocker Courtney Barnett. Each artist brings a unique flavor that highlights the festival’s rootsy, eclectic spirit.
Since its launch in 2001 by Warren Hellman, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass has grown from a one-day gathering into a three-day festival drawing over 750,000 attendees annually. True to its founding principles, the festival remains free and non-commercial, offering a platform to both established and emerging artists.
Attendees can expect more lineup announcements as the festival date nears, promising a well-rounded musical celebration for its quarter-century milestone.
