The image in the post shows a $3,900 charge with +$117.00 Rewards cash credited — a noticeable rebate on a high-ticket helicopter transfer.
This is a quick reminder that merchant category codes (MCCs) can change how your credit card rewards are calculated. In at least one instance Maverick was coded as entertainment, so cards that bonus travel may not earn their usual rate while entertainment-focused cards do.
