The 25th anniversary of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass (HSB) in San Francisco just got a serious boost. The festival announced key additions to the lineup, including the acclaimed folk supergroup I’m With Her, indie-folk mainstays ALO (Animal Liberation Orchestra), and a unique collaboration featuring Alan Sparhawk of Low alongside the roots revivalists Trampled By Turtles.
These new names enrich HSB’s renowned mix of bluegrass, folk, and indie sounds. I’m With Her returns with their tight harmonies and instrumental prowess, while ALO brings their signature dynamic indie-folk vibe. Alan Sparhawk’s collaboration with Trampled By Turtles highlights a fresh fusion of low-key rock and Americana, marked by their recently released joint album.
This expanded lineup joins previously announced artists including Lucinda Williams, Courtney Barnett, Samara Joy, The String Cheese Incident, Reverend Horton Heat, Watchhouse, Nick Lowe & Los Straitjackets, Dan Tyminski Band, Josh Ritter & The Royal City Band, and Chuck Prophet and His Cumbia Shoes.
Hardly Strictly Bluegrass 2025 will run from October 3-5 in the scenic Golden Gate Park, offering a diverse, star-filled experience to mark a quarter-century of celebrating acoustic and roots-based music.
