Bonnaroo fans are feeling the sting this year as the festival’s beloved free bandana giveaways at toll booths have been replaced by custom postcards featuring local artists. Organizers cited logistical challenges and profit considerations for the shift, sparking frustration among attendees who treasured the low-cost bandana tradition.
While merch booths will still sell bandanas—typically around $15—many fans had hoped for the usual toll booth freebies. Some are bringing their own bandanas to share, and others are reminiscing about leftover bandanas from past years, which are now rare sights.
Despite the disappointment, Bonnaroo organizers have pledged the bandana tradition will return in 2026, offering a silver lining to the community.
The 2025 festival, set for June 12–15 in Manchester, Tennessee, promises plenty more excitement with a star-studded lineup including Luke Combs, Tyler, The Creator, Olivia Rodrigo, and Hozier. A new highlight is the “Infinity Stage,” featuring the world’s largest 360° spatial audio setup, synchronized lighting, and a three-dome open-air design for an immersive experience.
Tickets remain available starting at $420 general admission, keeping Bonnaroo’s reputation as a must-attend summer festival alive, even as bandanas take a temporary backseat.
