Bonnaroo 2025 attendees were surprised to find that this year’s tickets do not include the customary physical “gift.” The festival announced that rising costs led organizers to redirect that budget toward critical on-site improvements, including upgrades to the Infinity Stage and Outeroo bathroom facilities.
The response from the Bonnaroo community has been a mix of disappointment and skepticism. Many fans suspect this move is more about cutting costs and protecting profit margins than genuinely enhancing the festival experience. Concerns have surfaced about potential staffing reductions and possible declines in service quality. Notably, there is worry the iconic annual bandana—a practical and cultural staple for Roo attendees—may no longer be part of the package.
Further doubt about the festival’s reasoning has been fueled by the backing of Live Nation, Bonnaroo’s financially strong parent company. Some attendees are uneasy as smaller perks and value-added items quietly disappear amid increasing ticket and camping fees.
While organizers promise that reallocating funds will improve attendee amenities, fans remain cautious, lamenting the loss of a beloved tradition and broader implications for festival value. These changes will be closely watched during the festival in June.
